Go under a tree and look up towards the sky through its branches. Is this what birds see as they’re sitting patiently in their nests?

Find a bit of wild space on the ground and look down to see what’s struggling to grow there. These coltsfoot flowers are the first wild flowers to bloom here in Nova Scotia.

no, no, no complaints from you about melting snow, lol! YOU have flowers. Real live wildflowers. We haven’t seen a single wildflower here in the Upper Peninsula yet. And I don’t think you can count the Princess pine yellow-part as a wildflower, can you?

No, the Princess pine yellow-part doesn’t count. The coltsfoot flowers even grow in the gravel here and are very early bloomers. Their large leaves grow after the flower withers. I checked to see if they grow anywhere in your neck of the woods (http://uptreeid.com/Roadweeds/UPwildflowers.htm) but it doesn’t look like they do, so I’ll refrain from any further complaints

Stop! Look! Listen! … to nature…
Definitely something most of could do with doing more of – thanks for the reminder!

I’m sure you will see the first wildflower spotted in the U.P. Maybe I should go look today?? Maybe it’s already there! What do you think?? (great excitement building…)

Kathy, from what I can gather, your best bet is finding white anemone in old growth maple woods.
Pepsoid, yes stopping, looking and listening are definitely what most could do with more of. However, Kathy and I might be compensating for the rest of the population

Yes. That’s it. That’s what we always see first. I know just where they hide out. We’re compensating for the whole rest of the population? Awesome!!
