Waiting for the chickadees
Yesterday’s sunny weather and warmer temperatures were ideal for a picnic on the snow. Summertime picnics don’t always measure up to expectations. They attract far too many ants and bees and require too much sunscreen and bug spray. A picnic on the snow in the woods is definitely where it’s at.
My grandson and I brought along some sunflower seeds. You never know when a chickadee’s going to drop by for a visit. Sitting on logs of wood, we ate our sandwiches, carrot sticks and cookies while listening to squirrels and birds in the trees and watching the snow sparkle on the ground. The sky never seemed bluer.

Reminds me of the early spring picnics when our children were young, – hot chocolate, freshly made waffles and oranges. And the sounds of nature

Eldrid, your Norwegian picnics sound a lot more tasty than our Canadian ones
